Shine Shivan (Kerala, India, 1981) is a multimedia artist known for his role-reversing photography and video work. After obtaining his Masters degree in Visual Arts from Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University, Shivan was quick to make a name for himself. He had his first solo show Sperm Weaver at 27-years old, featuring five works clustered together to comment on the fluidity of gender. Themes relating to gender flow through Shivan's original artwork; flashes of action and processes needing no categorization, evocative of a single gender: that of the human in all its incarnations. Galleries featuring Shivan's work include Tate Modern, London, UK and MOCA Taipei, Taipei, Taiwan
